Updates are provided by Microsoft at regular intervals to address issues with their software and ”patch” holes that can be potentially exploited. KayPENTAX recommends the use of Windows Automatic Updates to apply these updates and patches. In a managed distribution network environment, KayPENTAX supports the use of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) 2.0 or greater, when applicable. In a non-managed distribution network, KayPENTAX recommends consulting your organization’s Network Administrator for guidance on configuring your system to install Critical Updates. Additional information on how to configure and use Automatic Updates in Windows XP can be found at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306525. It is KayPENTAX’s policy to formally qualify (i.e., test) our products with specific Operating Systems and Service Packs. In addition, KayPENTAX also formally qualifies the Critical Updates released by Microsoft. This qualification includes installing only these Microsoft Critical Updates on our current products and confirming that our software performs as expected with the patches and updates applied. Current KayPENTAX customers can access detailed information on the status of monthly Critical Updates by logging in with your KayPENTAX username and password and going to the KayPENTAX Web site. If you have questions about this policy or accessing your account, please contact your product specialist or KayPENTAX technical support at support@kaypentax.com. |
