EE-1580K - Ultra-Slim
Esophagoscope allowing for transnasal Insertion
With a
5.1 mm ultra-slim Insertion Tube, PENTAX's first color chip
video esophagoscope can be inserted transnasally. Transnasal
insertion can usually be done without intravenous sedation,
reducing patient risk associated with anesthesia. This scope
is also equipped with a 2.0mm Instrument Channel for biopsy
forceps.
EG-1580K - Ultra-Slim Gastroscope allowing for transnasal
Insertion
The EG-1580K is equipped with
a 5.1mm Insertion Tube. This ultra-slim scope expands the
possibilities of endoscopic examination and can be inserted
transnasally. Transnasal insertion can usually be done
without intravenous sedation, which reduces patient risk
associated with anesthesia. The EG-1580K is equipped with a
2.0mm Instrument Channel for biopsy forceps, and is also
suitable for examination of infants.

Improved Control
The height and
shape of the R/L knob has been reconfigured for easy
operation with the left hand. The remote control buttons
have also been designed for easy single hand operation. The
lightweight, balanced control body helps reduce fatigue
during extended examinations and procedures.
Compact Rotating PVE Connector
The size and weight of the
PVE connector has been reduced, and can be attached to or
removed from the processor with a single action. The light
guide cable connector can rotate up to 180 degrees,
significantly reducing umbilical cable twisting and
buckling. A unique feature ONLY with Pentax scopes.
Easy Maintenance
The modified angulation knobs
are easier to clean, while the removable air/water valves
and suction buttons can be sterilized by autoclave. None of
the button seals (rings) require oil.
Easy
Snap-On and Autoclavable Components
A variety
of
components that snap-on rather than screw-off, allow for
easier installation and removal from the endoscope. These
components include the air/water and suction valves, and
channel cleaning adapters. For those institutions and
medical professionals requiring the confidence of
sterilization by autoclaving, the PENTAX components
identified above, along with all check-valves, can
withstand the high temperatures of steam sterilization.
