Facilitator, Model 3500
The Facilitator is a unique clinical tool that incorporates five distinct modes of auditory feedback into a single instrument. Developed in collaboration with Dr. Daniel Boone, a world-renowned voice pathologist and scientist with over 30 years of clinical experience, the Facilitator is the first device to provide clinicians and their clients with a diverse array of "facilitative" auditory feedback modalities in one instrument. It is truly five instruments in one. Previously, many devices were needed in order to obtain this much capability.
The Facilitator can be used in clinics or schools in conjunction with a therapist. It can also be worn by clients as a portable device outside the clinic to enhance carryover of therapy goals. The auditory feedback modes are used in therapy by speech-language pathologists in the treatment of a variety of communication disorders. And clinicians can easily experiment to see which feedback mode is most effective with their clients. Changing feedback modes is accomplished simply with the push of a button. An extensive applications manual written by Dr. Boone is supplied with the instrument. The rationale for each mode is presented, as are detailed tips on clinical use. Also included are case studies that describe how different modes of auditory feedback have been used in various clinical settings across a wide range of speech, language, and voice disorders. A bibliography further substantiates the rationale for these auditory feedback modalities.
